Getlink’s Climate Talks
A meeting format that brings together the decision-makers and opinion leaders most affected (businesses, investors and other financial players, analysts and think tanks) in order to bring about a constructive debate on the way forward embracing a dual economic and climate objective.
In 2022, Getlink and the Toulouse School of Economics created the Initiative for Effective Corporate Climate Action research fellowship to advance thinking on the impact of corporate activities on the climate, share experience, measure the costs of decarbonisation efforts and propose workable solutions.
This initiative was born out of the realisation that climate change is now a fundamental element in the life of a business and increasingly affects the sustainability of its business model: it entails a range of risks, both physical and transitional, whatever the nature of the business, and brings with it a structural transformation in the expectations of customers, regulators and investors.
For those reasons, the actions of businesses relating to climate change need to be considered and assessed from a dual perspective namely their ability to create value and prosperity while making an effective contribution to global decarbonisation objectives.
